Serving the Fort Sam Community

Founded as a spiritual home for military service members and their families.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church has served the Fort Sam Houston community since its founding in 1883. For decades military families stationed at Fort Sam called St. Paul’s their parish home. Through this long association St. Paul’s parish community understands the difficulties that military families live with while family members serve at home or deployed in the service of our country. The Military Matters ministry, lead by former U.S. Army Chaplain The Rev. Dr. Karen Brandon, is committed to continuing that close relationship. As the world changes, and the U.S. military changes, St. Paul’s Military Matters works to keep pace with those changes and provide a welcoming and inclusive home to its oldest neighbor. Whether you are on active duty, or retired, St. Paul’s can be your parish.
